Hi,
I have a RAQ3 with several domains hosted on it. Right now, the SMTP
server is activated, but it isn't actually being used for anything - no
email leaves the RAQ3, and none enters it. Email is currently handled by
another machine.
Anyway, I would like to use the RAQ3 as a backup SMTP server. I know
this is possible, but can some one clear me up on the tricky details?
Can it be done from the web admin interface? Everything I've tried so
far ends up with loop errors.
I am using these DNS records:
chronetics.com MX (Mail Exchanger) Priority: 30
gateway.avtechpulse.com
chronetics.com MX (Mail Exchanger) Priority: 40 www.chronetics.com
chronetics.com NS (Nameserver) ns.avtechpulse.com
chronetics.com NS (Nameserver) ns1.dn.net
ns.avtechpulse.com A (Address) 216.167.30.53
ns1.dn.net A (Address) 206.43.192.76
gateway.avtechpulse.com A (Address) 216.208.25.130
www.chronetics.com A (Address) 216.167.30.54
The ISP's internal address for the RAQ3 is:
blackbox.avtechpulse.com A (Address) 216.167.57.246
The externally accessible IPs are 216.167.30.53 and 216.167.30.54.
With this configuration, I get this error:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<mjc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
----- Transcript of session follows -----
553 www.chronetics.com. config error: mail loops back to me (MX
problem?)
