[cobalt-users] Hating the Cobalt Front Page Default

Thought I'd share what I sent off to the Sun/Cobalt Head Shed...

Subject: Hating the Cobalt Front Page Default

Just as way of assigning priorities to requests for "fixes"

I just had to add 10 virtual sites that would be using Front Page.

Per a previous message...that meant in all 10 sites I had
to mv index.html index.htm to have the page agree with Microsoft
default, then modify postinfo.html in all 10 sites to show
index.htm as default...and then modify each index.htm to
correct the faulty
web sites at the URL:
http://www.domain.com/users/<username>/
to the correct
web sites at the URL: http://www.domain.com/~<username>/

Of course for those of us that setup mailservers as
mail.domain.com, it meant that in all 10 sites in
/user/thename/web
I had to change the thename@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
to
thename@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Could I suggest that your software folks try to be a little more
"real world" ?

Sorry for the testiness...but it's an awful lot of extra work for an
automated appliance.
