I'm new to Raq management, and have no prior experience with either LiNUX or
UNiX, but
I'll have a pop!
I also have a RAQ4 and was slightly confused when it came to installing my
first few
domains onto my box!
The problem I found was that the instructions given to me by my RAQ providor
seemed
different to the documentation within the Cobalt user manual. This confused
me somewhat!
So I set 2 up, one following th eguidelines in the cobalt docs, the other
following the
instructions from my RAQ providor. Low and behold, the one that worked was
the one from my
providor!
For the virtual site I set up DNS enries as follows;
IP address = my RAQ IP
A record for domain.com = IP address
A record for host name "www" for domain.com = IP address
A record for host name "mail" for domain.com = IP address
MX record for domain.com with mail server entry of mail.domain.com (leaving
host blank)
I then set up the virtual site with the following entries;
IP Adress = IP address
Host Name ="www"
Domain Name = "domain.com"
Web server Aliases = "domain.com"
EMail server Aliases = "domain.com"
For clients wishing to have "catch all" the email alias for the user gets
set to;
@www.domain.com
These entries contradict the cobalt manual, but they work! well they do for
me!
