Yes. That's a form letter. I went so far as, after 6 complaints to
them and the "standard form letter", calling them directly, long
distance from the US. I was given an email address by the woman who
spoke to me. She did nothing.
They are just as bad as the Chinese sites.
I know this has been bandied about before, and even attempted, I
believe, but perhaps it's time to put in place a service like the
MAPS/RBL list, for port scans, proftpd attempts, etc.
I realise that this will most likely make me an even larger target, but
I've about had and end to my patience with ISPs (having been one for 8
years) that do NOT take a responsibility for network security. Perhaps
is enough of us blackhole their routes, they will begin to get the
message as their users are less and less able to function with the rest
of the world.
Just an idea. I'd be more than happy to work with people to implement
it.
