If they're windows users, I found the "hosts" text file, (no file
extension), is the best way.
The only thing in the file is:
xxx.xx.xx.xx www.domain.com
It goes in C:\Windows
Works great, and as long as the server the site is on has the site in the
DNS there shouldn't be any problems. I just used it for the first time for a
client's site that he's moving to Verio from his old host and having me do
updates and additions. Since his contact email address is expired it will be
a while before he can get the DNS changed anyway.
