I was checking out e-smith http://www.e-smith.org
Set it up and, wow is it a simple and a easy install and works great ,web GUI ect. very close to a Cobalt OS, if you just want to kind of get a feel for it look at there manual and check out there developers forum..
There were users that wanted to do some mods and such, this OS is probably more what they are looking for, (open development) or as I have done set it up as a file/intranet server for the internal network, or I could see setting it up as a backup server for your cobalt unit if it goes down for the count.
I was just thinking some one her would like to know about this, information is power, so I hope it helps some one, some time down the road. I would reccomend just downloading it (it is only a 340MB ISO) for a backup OS you can throw on a box if you desperatly need something at some time...
