[cobalt-users] popbeforeSMTP failed

Dear Helper.

More than a year ago I successfully installed the POP Before SMTP (version1.2) on my raq2 server. It worked just fine until Friday, April 20 when it quit working (according to /var/log/maillog file, it quit working at 5:25 PM - no apparent reason; i.e. I made no changes to anything). Now, when my users try to send email out through server (after checking email), we get error message: "Can't Send. 550 <recipients email address>. Relaying Denied. Please POP before sending".
The problem is not with my ISP.

I can still send email to the server, but no email can be sent through it (no outgoing SMTP). Perhaps coincidentally (or not), shortly after I lost POP before SMTP, I lost access to 'superuser' permission due to fact that the /var directory maxed out on disk space quota. I was able to free up enough disk space in the var directory to restore superuser. However, the POP before SMTP feature did not restore.

I've also tried restarting my email services (via the Admin Interface), and restarting the poprelay daemon and restarting sendmail.

If anybody can explain this or offer suggestions on how to repair POP before SMTP, I would greatly appreciate it?

Also, I was wondering if there are any problems associated with upgrading my qpopper from version 2.53 to version 3.0?

Thanks and Sincerely,
