At 4/23/01 11:44 AM +0200, you wrote:
OTOH, I can somewhat understand Peter's sentiments, probably. You would have
to have some knowledge of what goes around in The Netherlands where

Come to Guatemala someday... believe me, I understand. :)

I will be asking stupid rsync questions pretty soon,
for instance. Guilty as charged.

Main difference being that you have *earned* a reputation for only asking after you've tried it yourself, and helping others, and being a solid member of the community. You're entitled to much more leeway... Johan and Peter just got here from what I can tell, and although they get the standard benefit of the doubt and a couple of freebies, must themselves earn the respect of other listmembers.

Let me know when you're into rsync, my man... I've put in some time with it recently setting up my mirror of RedHat's FTP site. My goal is to eventually mirror the entire 80GB of stuff, but I have to take it slow building up; hence I've learned --exclude statements. No expert yet, but you know I'll help you in what I can.

I agree with you, but it also can drive me absolutely nuts when people are
asking questions to which the answers are so easy to find.

Point taken.

Just like the time you made a remark
on my Voodoo/PHP thingie. Okay, okay,
the thingie *was* kinda lame! ;-)

Dude, I was *kidding*. I hope you didn't think I was mad at you... I'm sorry... I've had so much fun making Colin snarf Mountain Dew up his nose that I try to provoke him sometimes <grin>.
