Arf, of course yes.....since I don't run telnet on *any* machine I own
or have admin responsibility for, it's all too easy to forget this small
additional fact.
Yes, the initial text upon telnet access does spring from
/etc/issue.net...true. Humble apologies tendered to one and all.

Tangentially, I wonder why anyone uses telnet anymore? Considering how
completely insecure it is, one must indeed ponder the reasons for its
continuing usage. Especially since a win32 client like putty is f.r.e.e.
and secure CRT is available for the user who needs more features but at
a modest price.
