[cobalt-users] Relaying Problem - ORBS Complaint about Cube3 Sendmail Host

I'm new to this list so pardon any initial netiquette foulups!

I've scanned the archives briefly and couldn't see anything that directly
addresses my problem.

We have a Cube3 that we are using for email.
We also have a SCO Unix 3.2.4 box running MMDF.

ORBS sent a complaint concerning a relay test that succeeded (where RCPT
TO:<orbs-relay%sombody.com@xxxxxxxxxxx> ) to our host running MMDF.

When I tested the Cube3 out I discovered that this configuration of
sendmail also has the problem:

<< From our host>>
[admin sbin]$ ./sendmail -dp
Version 8.10.2
 Compiled with: MAP_REGEX LOG MATCHGECOS MIME7TO8 MIME8TO7 NAMED_BIND
NETINET NETUNIX NEWDB QUEUE SASL SCANF SMTP USERDB XDEBUG

As far as I can tell Cobalt wouldn't want me changing the sendmail.cf file
(no write capability as admin though I can su to get root access).

Has anyone had this problem and what did they do to get around it?

Is there a FAQ somewhere I should look at regarding this whole topic (ie:
hardening the Cobalt Cube 3)? Yes - I have seen and read the Howto on
e-mail relay and Email on the Raq3. It doesn't say it but I'd assume that
if the 'Relay Email from Hosts/Domains/IP Addresses' is empty that no
relaying should take place.

I've downloaded and installed all available Cube 3 patches (including 6.2)

I originally posted this to the cobalt-security group after I signed up but
it hasn't appeared on the list, I have not received a digest - don't
understand how that group works! I got a message saying a non-member
couldn't post but I also received an email to welcome me as a member :*(

I will repost it here since I am receiving emails from this list.

Thanks in Advance
