Actually, it does take firewalls, nats, etc. into account. I just read
through some of the docs and it appears that the software you install on the
host must comminicate with the web site and then, when you access the
website from a remote location, it is able to link you to your box. Because
the connection is launched from machines inside your firewall there
shouldn't be a problem.
I haven't tried it but it sounds like a neat trick
