Below is the text of a message I sent to cobalt support regarding the
adaptive firewall and pptp. Wonder if anyone here can help? I'd usually
post this in the security list, but that list seems to be very inactive. If
the pptp support on the sun adaptive firewall doesn't work, perhaps someone
could suggest an alternative?
I recognize that the pptp on the firewall is labeled experimental. None the
less, as I have need of a pptp connection, I'm attempting to use it.
Doesn't work. I can ping to the distant server through the firewall, can
traceroute, but the log file shows that any attempt to use pptp doesn't get
past the firewall. I've tried making the distant host a trusted site, still
no go. Suggestions, comments, scornful remarks.
By the way, I trust you know that the save and activate current command on
the firewall menu doesn't save and activate. Indeed, one must save and
reboot in most instances in order to have the current configuration
activated.
(neither of the above are addressed in the support databases)

I'd really like to get into space, but how is that going to happen?
