Yes, that could, and most likely will, happen.  Only thing I can think of
is explain why it happened, and suggest that both you and the person with
the problem email the admin of HIS server.  Perhaps that will alert the
folks on the other end that they either have a rogue user, or that their
system is home to hackers.
