I agree with you Dan, they usually do just 'fade away'.
The most common phrase we hear from a disgruntled customer is, 'We will sue
you'. The idea of threatening others with a lawsuit is as common in America
as the television--- which is where I think many of these people get their
ideas anyway.
As for me, if I am seriously considering a lawsuit against someone, I don't
think I would necessarily 'alert' them of the fact, lest I not be taken
seriously. In other words, 'walk the walk', if you're gonna 'talk the
talk'.
