Posted this one a few days ago and the formatting was so badly done (due to
forgetting to check word wrap and some strange formatting on the copy paste
that I did) that probably nobody could/would read it..
Anyway.. Problem is: I've done everything according to directions listed in
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2000-December/027714.html to
get the folder password protected, all went as advertised; the .htaccess
file was created and had exactly what was suggested in it (changes made for
my system file locations) the password file was created and looked just
like it should..
The problem is when I try to access this folder with the password files in
place, it will not accept the password. (deleting or clearing body of files
allows access)
Tried several combinations for addressing on password file location with
zero positive result..
I've got SSL installed in the top site for the machine (not this domain)
and all updates, to current, installed...
Is there a config file change that needs to be made to get this to work?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I can not find any difinitive
answer in the archives that speak to this exact situation... and I'd very
much like to lock up my stats folder created by webalizer..
TIA
Wayne Sagar
