Be nice? Wouldn't it be nice if those constantly asking questions covered
repeatedly on the list and easily found not only in the archives but on
Google, would take 5 minutes to search and indicate what steps they have
tried? IMO, at the point someone decides to administer their own server I
would expect they at least had the ability to look at an error message or
log from their server, pick out a couple of words or phrase from the error
and try it in the archives or a search engine.

I agree totally. It is very annoying when people are asking questions that
are even in the index in the cobalt manual. But why not just ignore stupid
questions. That way there will be less junk in the archives and it will be
easier to search.

As for indicating that someone has been kill filed, well, at least it points
out to the next person who top posts or posts in HTML why their questions
aren't being answered. Maybe it's educational.

Look at it this way:

1, Stupid question - 1 junk message in my mailbox and in archive.
2, Flame - 2 junk messages in my mailbox and in archive
3, Reply to flame - 3 junk messages in my mailbox and in archive
	and on
	and on
	and on...

I think that everyone will be happier if we do the following before posting:

1, Study the Cobalt literature.
2, Study the Red Hat manuals ( can be downloaded )
3, Study the Apache manuals (can also be downloaded )
4, Search the archive extensively before posting
5, Search the web before posting
6, Think
7, Ask yourself if what you are posting should be on the list
8, Finally post a question when all else has failed

and if you cannot put in the effort above, either employ someone else to
manage your server or sell it.
