I have run into that very same thing, both on a RaQ2 and a RaQ3.
On the Raq 2, the only solution I found was to delete the user
account,
and make a new one with a different name, and then alias the old
account
name to the new one. Before you do all this, you may want to check
your
spool/mail directory to see if that user has mail. If they do, simply
copy their
mail file to a temporary location, then after you have created the new
account
copy the file back and rename it to the new account name and voila,
they
still retain their old mail.
On the RaQ 3, I simply deleted the user and recreated the same
account.
I know that there may be a better solution out there, but at the time
I
developed these work arounds, I had far less knowledge, and did not
have
the benefit of this list. This solution should do in a pinch.
