I have installed openSSH. It works correctly for TelnetSSH and FTPSSH. I
have limited the user at /home/sites/sitex/users/userName to SSHFTP
only, removing TelnetSSH access for that user.
When the user logs in FTPSSH (using WinSCP) they arrive in the
/home/sites/sitex/users/userName directory. BUT, unlike regular FTP,
since this userName has a shell account for SSH, they can roam to any
directory on the server. The user can see and download such files as
/etc/passwd but of course they cannot write to any files outside of
/home/sites/sitex/users/userName .
Does anyone know if there is a way to limit this user's access to the
/home/sites/sitex/users/userName directory, as is done with regular FTP.
I'm assuming this is something controlled by the SSH FTP server in
openSSH. I'm also assuming that this is a feature of commercial servers
such as the one by Van Dyke. But, free is free :) and free is already
installed.
Any help would be appreciated
