RE: [cobalt-users] IP and Host are showing incorrectly

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday. It was a new Raq 4i developer
edition. First noticed it when I tried to activate SSL for the home site:
The httpd.conf still had the old ip address entered for the virtual site.
Requests to https//host.domain.com failed since the IP numbers didn't match.

As it was a test server not in production, I tried several things to correct
the problem including removing all virtual sites except the home site,
thinking it might have to do with SSL and its limit of one IP / secure site.
Once all virtual sites were gone, I was no longer able to even load the SITE
SETTINGS page to edit the home site. All attempts came back with errors.
This suggested a postgresql problem. The fact that postgresql has failed to
launch 2 out of every three boots of the machine since I first received it
seemed converging evidence.

I searched the lists, found nothing that seemed to fit, so just reinstalled
the os. Everything works fine now, but I confess I've not tried to change
the ip number as yet. I know this doesn't help directly, but perhaps as
emerges about the problem, a definite cause and indicated solution will
become evident. If your RaQ is heavily populated, you'll most likely want
to pursue a less invasive solution.

Subject: [cobalt-users] IP and Host are showing incorrectly

I changed the host name and the IP address for my RaQ4i and everything seems
ok, but when I go to site management in the gui it still shows the main site
for the box as the old IP and host name. Also, when I add a user and try
to send a message to that user, I get a "No such user here". I checked the
virtusertable and it writes the email address/alias with the old hostname.
Has anyone else experienced this? Help.

Thanks,

Rich
