Hi:
I've recently started working with the RaQs, in particular, I just got
an XTR. Eventually this machine will be a database server. I tried
installing a MySQL rpm, although it installed cleanly, I did not get any
of the executable files. I removed the rpm (rpm -e mysql-3.23.36-1) and
downloaded the src.rpm. I tried to build from source as I would on a
RedHat box, and this is what I got:
# cd /usr/src/
# rpm -Uvvh MySQL-3.23.36-1.src.rpm
# rpm -ba redhat/SPECS/mysql-3.23.36.spec
> snip <
checking for gcc... egcs
checking whether the C compiler (egcs -O6 -fno-omit-frame-pointer )
works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler
cannot create execu
tables.
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.65370 (%build)
#
Thanks in advance,
Chesley
