Hello,

Thank you for your help below.  Yes it works for me after adding a user 
to group "wheel".   

How safe is it to change "root" password? Will it affect the admin user 
functionality for the webinterface?  The reason I want to change is the 
admin password is used quite often on the web and it's the same 
password for root.   That is when I login using the web, i'm sending 
the clear (root) password in http auth protocol.
