RE: [cobalt-users] SSL warning & 404

I have a similar situation on a RAQ4, where I created a self-signed key and
entered it on the SSL page for the master site. Of course, when I access
the Admin Web GUI, I always get the dialog box presenting the not trusted
warnings on the cert.

However now, when any user logs into their personal admin pages for their
site, they are getting the same cert warning dialog box, and when the click
OK and log in, the are connecting via SSL. Why is that strange?

1) Each site is on it's own unique IP, as is the main site - so no shared
IPs. My understanding is "one cert to one IP."

2) The user's sites don't have SSL enabled.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on here?

Thanks -

mike

Subject: [cobalt-users] SSL warning & 404

The main site on a RaQ 4i has a self generated SSL certificate. When one of
the virtual sites (doesn't matter whether it is sharing the same IP as the
main site or not) has a 404 error, a security warning about the main sites
SSL certificate pops up on the visitors screen as the default Cobalt "file
not found" thing is loading. Has anyone else ran into this, and is there a
way of preventing it? I had moved some of the sites to another IP address,
but the SSL warning is still given. I presume that if I purchased a
certificate this wouldn't happen because most people's browsers would trust
a signed certificate from Thawte or whoever. It doesn't matter to me about
the warning... as a matter of fact, I don't even get it because I trust my
own self generated certificate. Some clients find this disconcerting,
though. Of course, if they didn't have the 404 errors...

Thanks - Arthur
