My guess is the network card you are using in your host PC.... the restore
CD only support a couple of different ethernet cards.  I purchased a 3COM
509B card (the 509C card will not work). I believe the Intel card works also
(don't have the docs here at the moment)....

I have used the restore CD many times (we have quite a few different
Cobalts) and it has always worked well once I got the correct card.

I was very careful, actually, about which network card to use. The OS Restore CD said, specifically, the NetGear FA312TX EtherNet card and I hunted one down (took a call to Minotaur Technologies, but got one I did!) and it did not work, that is, the Qube did not restore.
I realize that most people have had excellent results form using Cobalt OS restore CDs. As I had noted, the FTP and telnet services are not functioning (I try to start them, and they crash the Qube.) Could that have something to do with it?
