what you are describing sounds like bad proxy servers in
action. I have recently done this with about 200 domains
from a hacked server to a fresh (non-cobalt) server. we
also tested from aol, earthlink, msn, and prodigy and all
updates where handled perfectly using 5 minute ttl's.

Hi Rudolfo,
Don't know if this will make you feel better or worse.. When I've migrated
domains in the past, I've seen some DNS information not updated for nearly a
month.. (or once.. more)
Also don't know if you can do this (did not read the entire string of
messages on this subject) but what I've done in the past is leave the old
sites live at the old location and dupe them to the new one... Only had one
of those sites that was updated very often but just updated both servers
until I thought it had propogeted througout most of the world... oddly
enough (suppose not in a linux community) Microsoft's internet access system
was one of the slowest to update their records....
Some little local providers were bad also. A full month after moving the
site and a week after finally figuring it was time enough.. My cartoonist
could not see his new work up on the site...(small local provider in... you
guessed it.. Seattle:)
I probably just made you feel worse... sorry.. I seem to be good at that <g>
