oh no.. they are very secure out of the box, its when you plug them in the
security issues start :)
In my opinion cobalts are pretty ridiculously insecure, but then i am 110%
paranoid about everything, and wouldn't leave anything in an
'out-of-the-box' state. They are far more easy to secure than something
like NT or 2k however, especially since software for *nix systems is mostly
free.
the cobalt-security list has some pretty good guys who will help you out
with any security issues you have, so long as you are willing to learn.
