The admin in Florida is running strace on named - the named you see is a copy started manually (from the shell prompt as root) after it failed to initialize at init3.
Greg
ps - I now have a second RAQ sitting along side - running ns2 on the secondary RAQ, pointing to the domains on the first - ie, the way 'GOD' intended DNS to run - but of course, this isn't my RAQ, it's loan one.
The result is I have to get this fixed, or migrate to the loaned RAQ, or buy/lease a second RAQ to get the DNS workaround up full-time, because the first RAQ isn't seemingly capable of providing our DNS any more.
