[cobalt-users] RaQ3 Frontpage Authentication Problem

Hi All,

We have a RaQ3i which we have about 6 FrontPage enabled sites on. They have
all worked perfectly in the past until last week.

We are now experiencing problems with users on one of our servers trying to
publish using FrontPage 2000. All was well but the server has now ceased to
allow permission to any FP enabled site for publishing using FP. We have
double
checked usernames and passwords, disabled/reenabled FP extensions, recreated
users, recreated entire virtual sites but to no avail.

Nothing had changed on the server it terms of updates at this point. We
have (to try and rectify the problem) installed all the latest patches and
updates. Still no joy.

We have also removed the FP extensions and then Telnet to the box and gone
to the Virtual site folder and done:

chmod -R 755 web
chown -R nobody.siteXX web

Again no luck.

I have tried to simple Open the site using FrontPage and it appears to
connect to the site initially (i.e. it doesn't report that FP are not
enabled which it does when there aren't) and then it prompts for the
Username and Password. These are entered (and they have been checked and
reset many times) and then it just keeps coming back with the prompt for the
Username and Password. No error message or anything.

I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

Best regards,
