Mike,

Unless you've upgraded the OS and security utilities, the RaQ (RaQ1)
does NOT use a shadow file.  If you see "gobbledeegook" (technical term,
there) in the password field of the /etc/passwd file, for example:

  wazzup:Aiq9isrKu1VY:341:100:Bud Light:/home/wazzup:/bin/false
         ^^^^^^^^^^^^

If you see this (encrypted password), then you're not using a shadow
file.  As distributed (2-3 years ago), the RaQ systems did not use
shadowing.
