thats about all the init script will say... but it opens a log at
/var/log/postgresql and this is what I suggest
As Root...
/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql stop
/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start
if you get failed message
tail /var/log/postgresql
and you should see some type of message...
Also this could be a symptom of other things... Check "top" and look at
your idle time or if something is using to much memory...
