Hello, sorry I read the digest of the list so I don't know if anybody helped
me out yet, but in the meantime I read an excellent post from this list's
archive that helped me find the way.
in fact the CGI-Wrapper would do the thing itself.
what I wanted is to be able to run a CGI script with specifying a .cgi or
.pl extension
In my case, the file is a compiled binary from a c source.
for this I found out that I need ot add a line to httpd.conf which reads:
ScriptAlias /special-cgi/ /home/sites/home/special-cgi/
and in this folder I can put a file without extension and it will be
interpreted as a CGI
so I can now write in my html:
<img src="/special-cgi/myprogram?option"> and it will execute the program on
the server.
the post that helped me is from end of january 2001 and from Kul.
Thanks for those who perhaps took the time to answer my newbie question.
