The initial "K" indicates not only that they won't start when your
system runs in system level 3, but also that if they're already running
when you switch to system level 3, they'll stop.
That's a linux convention (is it a BSD convention as well, anyone?).
Purpose being so you can switch between runlevels and start each
runlevel off the way it's supposed to run.
Since we don't do that on RaQs, nothing bad will happen if you take
these out, but certainly nothing bad can/will come of leaving them in,
and you'll have a more standard linux distribution.
(I'm responding a bit more completely than Rodolfo did; not to step on
your toes, Rodolfo.)
