[cobalt-users] can't create .pop file??

Suddenly for a few minutes I got a strange error: "can't create
/var/spool/mail/.username.pop - check your permissions" when the user tried
to retrieve email.

The user and group was under there quota, so that wasn't the problem.

I checked permissions on the mail directory, and changed them to 777,
although I doubt this was the problem... what permissions should the mail
directory have?

Anyway, the issue suddenly disappeared a few minutes later. Does anyone know
what may have caused this? The user had a rather large box, 32mb, but I
increased the quota to accomodate this.
