As has been said, you get what you pay for. You can only get as fast a
connection as the host has available. I've seen plenty of wild claims from
"hosts" about their connection when it turns out they're actually a reseller
and the actual host doesn't even advertise as good a connection as the
reseller is claiming.

I have a good relationship with Interliant's dedicated server support and
can contact them via AIM when there's a problem. (It also helps that I
alert them to new issues on this list.)

And, as with most hosts, those prices are negotiable and they run specials.
