question the answer is no - But let me try to respond
Pinging a server - legal - it's like a "hello are you there" - unless
it turns into an attack.
Sending an email - of course legal - it enters a port that is deemed
'public'
Using an other port of entry is, I would submit, illegal. I'd argue the case
I'm just waiting for a UK resident to try and hack into my box and If I can
identify them - I will make a complaint.
Actual damage is irrelevant . It is a Crominal offense in the UK to enter a
system unlawfully. full stop. period. out to lunch
