Perl by itself is not a difficult install. In theory, you could run two
versions side by side; but I would recommend against it. I've seen where
scrits written to around 5.005, etc. have been broken in 5.6. Usually, a
simple rewrite fixes them; but Cobalt uses perl heavily in it's
administrative functionality, so there might be a caution involved there. My
guess is though, that you would be safe to upgrade.
