Re: [cobalt-users] qpopper exploit?

Sure, why not?
What reason would any of these machines on this class B network have to
enter into any of our machines' port111's, 1080's, qpopper, or even shell?
They can still reach the web sites via port 80 if I'm not mistaken, and
that's the only thing they *need* to do.
Besides, I don't think a group of IPs assigned to leased servers/websites
would need to be surfing our sites; the owners of those machines/sites would
be doing this from a home or office, correct? They're not sitting in the
actual NOC trying to browse through our site.
(I know, there's a whole nother issue with email - but I'm not too worried
about that, either. If they allow hackers, they prolly allow spammers, too.)

I dunno. I'm kinda of this mindframe that if a server host allows one hacker
they'll allow 30 or 300... so may as well block them all. If they can't get
to my machine, too bad - maybe if they find themselves blocked from enough
machines on the net they'll start actually cracking down on what's going on
in their network and start cleaning out the creeps.
