Are all those IP addresses on the same subnet as the ones you already
have? If you don't know, post your actual IP addresses and netmask as
well as the new ones.
Actually they are not on the same subnet. I don't want to broadcats them on
the list as it is not safe, but here are the numbers with the 3 first parts
masked... the XXX.XXX.XXX being the same all the time
my main IP address is
XXX.XXX.XXX.254
I also have a second one on the same subnet
XXX.XXX.XXX.243
My ISP installked that one as nothing needs to be done as on the same subnet
(as far as I understand).
He now gave me the following (which I understand is a range of 28 addresses
on top of the 48))
XXX.XXX.XXX.48/28
with 48 being the network address, 49 unsuable and 63 the broadcast address.
I need to do some IP aliasing at shell level probably, but don't want to
mess up.
