I performed the following steps to fix crond.  I hope this helps you:

su root
cd /etc/rc.d/rc2.d
ln -s ../init.d/crond S40crond
cd /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
ln -s ../init.d/crond S40crond
cd /etc/rc.d/rc4.d
ln -s ../init.d/crond S40crond
cd /etc/rc.d/rc5.d
ln -s ../init.d/crond S40crond
cd /etc/rc.d/rc0.d
ln -s ../init.d/crond K40crond
cp K40crond ../rc6.d

Jeff:

I saw your post regarding a fixed PKG file that will be added to the update
site ASAP.  Will the RPM file that you mentioned below fix the problem on my
RaQ3's?
