<laugh> Now *that's* one I didn't expect. No, they didn't find me at
that time and I have no plans to get in touch.

I had a remarkably negative experience at Harvard, and left after 2.5
years (only two semesters away from graduation) truly filled with
disgust and contempt for the university. There are a couple of stories I
could tell you that damn near made me spit blood in anger...

The short version of just the last story is that I went to Summer School
to take some more classes. Some of the high-school kids on my floor got
in trouble for drinking (they were underage), and the Administrative
Board KICKED ME OUT OF SUMMER SCHOOL on the following reasoning:

* I was the only one over 21, hence I bought them the liquor
* I was already in Harvard, so they weren't actually my friends, they
were just kissing ass
* I was trying to seduce the 16-year-old girls with said liquor, which
made me a "disgrace to the human race" and "of such a low moral
character as to be utterly contemptible" (actual words of August 4th,
1994)
* If everyone said I had nothing to do with it, they must all be lying
* If everyone said they bought their own stuff, they must all be lying
* If I had liquor in my room, I must therefore be a liar by nature
* I should be "on my knees" (again, actual words) thanking them because
they would only waste my $8,000 of summer school but out of pity let me
come back in the fall and eventually graduate, which I didn't deserve
* Harvard is the best in the world and has been for 300 years, so they
can conclude what the truth is and know they are right, even if all the
evidence disagrees
* I need not offer an opinion, since they assured me that 20 years later
I would thank them for trying to correct my grievous errors

This is ONE of the reasons I don't like them.

I lost my temper entirely, cussed out the full AdminBoard fluidly for
about 20 minutes, then packed and left. Never went back, never missed
them for a minute. Fuck 'em all.
