I have just now searched www.achieve-it.com at
http://www.his.com/cgi-bin/nslookup and the result seems to be correct i.e.
212.67.197.39 . Is there any other way to verify this?

What I have done now is in the control panel for www.achieve-it.com I have
made primary name server (212.67.197.38) the IP address. And in the
ns.achieve-it.com/admin DNS section I have the records pointing to the
secondary name server (212.67.197.39) . So I am no longer am directed to the
place holder page of ns.achieve-it.com but the IP address still seems to the
primary, i.e. 212.67.197.38 . Am I doing this correctly.

Why the 'ns' control panel?, the IP you are using is 'ns2'

nameserver has nothing to do with it, if you are using the same IP as the
nameserver
that is fine.

Do you have the nameserver records set up for www.achieve-it.com ?
Just checked, looks like you do.
Are you sure that you have the 'site' IP set to ns2 IP 212.67.197.39?
