[cobalt-users] Mailing List



My contact at Sun sent the following information ref the problems with the
mailing list(s) and the Knowledge Base:

 1)  The box that the list server was on has had mulitple problems
     over the last months.  There are a few reasons for this.  One
     of our engineers worked with IT to get it running again.  There
     is some long term maintenance that needs to be done on this
     system, but messages should no longer be delayed.  The knowledge
     base is also on this box and needs to be upkept.
  2) The knowledge base is upkept by Customer Advocacy.   The person
     who was upkeeping the knowledge base is no longer with the
     company.  I am working with Customer Advocacy to get someone to
     own the knowledge base and start getting it updated again.  I
     will try and give you status next week as to a timetable for
     when we will get it back up to date with the lates products and
     information.

My take is that the move of Cobalt into Sun has added delays, but it
appears that there is some action.

As critcal as I've been of Cobalt, the Knowledge Base and the list, I feel
that Sun is beginning to respond to our complaints.
