RE: [cobalt-users] Chkrootkit Question-Now due diligence

On Behalf Of M. DeWar
Well being a linux ignorant and a raq newbie I thought chkrootkit was part
of the raq box. So going to search for it on google never crossed my mind as
it may not have for this person either. After searching every dir on the
dang box I just figured it was something on the new raq boxes.(I have a raq2
bought second hand).
Remember not everyone is a linux geek and knows what is or not part of the
box or a linux utility that can be added. If you HAVE searched the raq kb
seems every answer to a program added to the box seems to say unsupported
and may void the warranty. So why would anyone ASS U ME that the chkrootkit
was not part of the raq system.

I'm not a Linux Geek by any stretch of the imagination. The KB and archives
are a painful experience. But google is a really good way to search for
strange things we need. As a matter of fact it has a great selection of all
the postings on this list. Seems the spider has a great time indexing our
archive.
Just do a little leg work, that's all. The vets in this group will let you
know if you have done your "due diligence" or not :>
