Hello,
I have a raq3i on 4webspace.com that has worked flawlessly up until when
some hackers did something with a bunch of servers on the network having to
do with BIND.
So, I updated to v4, and updated my bind to the latest pkg file and
everything was right as rain again in paradise.
So, one night, almost 3 days ago, the server was working, all domains could
be resolved.
The next morning, no domains can be resolved.
I can still get to the control panel via ip as well as any other ip
address's on the server, but all domain names produce internet explorer dns
errors.
Im on the tera-byte network, and they have told me that they have not shut
off anyones dns yet, on Feb 20, I changed my name servers ip address's with
network solutions due to Tera Byte telling everyone that dns would be shut
off on all raq's come Feb 21.
Well, even with the new ip address's inputed to netsol the server continued
to work, dont know how, but it worked.
Okay, now it doesnt, tech support at tera byte has told me that they can
reach the domains, but can not resolve my first name server, I should point
out that I have no problem resolving my name servers in my browser, whereas
he does.
I called a buddy in Michigan (im in cal), and asked if he could get to any
domains on my server, he tried and said no, I asked him to go to my name
servers, ns.blablabla.com and he found those without problem.
So, can anyone point me some advise as to what to do.
If you are a raq provider and can match 4webspaces pricing, please email me
off list and let me know, it may be my only solution at this point since
it's been down for 3 days, meanwhile I login via telnet, and see that indeed
my access log is still functioning and people are coming to the site, but
need to find out whats gone wrong.
Anyone can help, please let me know.
Thanks,
Adam
