RE: [cobalt-users] Enough is enough...

Cobalt User,

Kindly remove your head from your colon. Now breathe deeply.

And they should take responsibility for a BIND exploit... why?

And the company that does what you suggest is... which?

And you assert that RaQ's are special targets... why?

The prudent administrator has a 95% lower chance of being hacked, since
he/she has already made a strong effort to learn about and secure the
box, *totally regardless* of what OS is running.

The prudent administrator knows that there are no guarantees; ever.

The prudent administrator knows that the buck was always his/hers;
passing it to Cobalt shows a *stupid* administrator, or someone new to
the business which is entirely different.

You run Sun... you won't buy any Sun... huh?

Sun just took over. If you've been around long enough to brush your
teeth, you know that making major changes to even a small network takes
time. Making major changes to a corporate culture that's decayed takes
longer; and making major changes to a $2,000,000,000 acquisition is done
with extreme care.

If your assertions are true, then I somewhat regret to inform you that
you have completely failed to predict, assess, or even react to changes
in the market and your suppliers in a timely fashion, thus placing your
entire existing network at risk by filling it full of Cobalt and Sun, of
whom you have been "one of the greatest proponents since the beginning."
You have furthermore failed to provide for adequate security, since you
trusted them to do it.

This does not say much about your skill as an administrator.

You wouldn't happen to be related to David Holt, would you? Your...
stuff... smells about the same.
