I was on a cooperative search with an associate, we both found the unit
hidden away on ebay in the wrong category...rather than drive the price
up, I cut a deal with my associate...he would bid up to x, and I would bid
up to y if he was outbid(We both are cheap). As luck would have it, his
floor was a tad bit over 800 bucks...and since I didn't out price him, he
got the unit.
That was the exception...but every now and again you can do it, not only
with RAQ's but other things.
Of course, YMMV
