Hello,
I am new to both the cobalt products and to linux. This will be fun. :-)
I got a Raq2 really cheap. I have it up and running.
HOwever there are some things I am not sure of and hope someone is patient enough to help this blundering rookie.
I have gone thru the KB somewhat but...
I am not sure if the box is running the latest OS & updates for it.
How do I tell what version of OS is on it. ? I see in the software update on the Raq box it says OS 2 and OS 4 but I am not sure if I can run the 4 and how do I tell if I am running 1,2 or 3 version of OS ?
This is what it says when I telnet in:
Cobalt Linux release 4.0 (Fargo)
Kernel 2.0.34 on a mips
I telneted to the box did a rpm -qa and I see some of the software listed has being lower in version numbers than what is on the site.
a rpm -qa results this: (only a partial list)
setup-1.9.1-2C9
filesystem-1.3.2-3
basesystem-4.9-1
ldconfig-1.9.5-2
glibc-2.0.7-10
chkconfig-0.9.3-2
MAKEDEV-2.2-11
SysVinit-2.71-3
termcap-9.12.6-6
libtermcap-2.0.8-6
grep-2.0-6
zlib-1.1.2-2
bash-1.14.7-2
fileutils-3.16-3
info-3.9-5
textutils-1.22-2
sed-2.05-7
qpopper-2.53-1C3
GD-1.15-1
GIFgraph-0.90-4
analog-2.90beta4-2C8
apache-admin-1.3.3-1C5
I see versions 0 to 4 and such so I am completely lost as to what is on the box.
Also I run a separate mailserver. That will not be a problem will it with the RAQ2 ?. I turned both DNS server and mailserver off in the setup.
Has ASP support been added to the RAQ line ? I did a KB search and seems as of 2000 no. But was wondering if something new had come out ?
Thanks Kindly
Mark
