There have been a number of threads on the list regarding changing the root password so it is different than the admin password. This is possible. However, if the admin password gets changed from the GUI, the root password is also updated (tested and confirmed). Thus, if someone has your admin password, it doesn't matter if they don't know your root password -- they can change both.
