As simpilistic as this may sound, run the following command at the prompt: lsattr /bin/login I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here and I myself would veryt much like a definative answer, but the fact is that I'm not absolutely sure that reinstalling from the CD will handle files that have been set immutable. This is a long shot, mind you, but if not is possible that your restore did not correct the problem. Perhaps someone from Cobalt is lurking and can provide an answer.
