So I figured it would be good to order the RaQ 4i recovery disk since I've
seen on this list that people do have to use them occasionally. I figured
it would be pretty blatantly stupid to not order one because if I don't
order one my system will crash and if I do order one my system will never
crash. It's one of those things...
The Cobalt web page doesn't have a place where you can buy the RaQ 4 OS
Recovery disks (that I could find.)
So I called Sun and left a message with my Inside Sales Representative.
(She was away from her desk). And I said, "So I opened my box and pulled
out my new RaQ4i. What a nice looking unit. And it runs great. Except the
book refers to an OS Recovery Disk, and my system didn't come with one. I
can't understand why you would ship a product that didn't have the Recovery
Disk with it."
So the next morning at 9, the FEDEX guy shows up with an overnight package
from Sun. I open the package and out drops an OS Recovery Disk for the
RaQ4i. No cost. No questions asked. And she left her business card taped
to the outside of the cd case.
Maybe the Sun acquisition of Cobalt isn't a bad thing.
