Hi.

Use the "Linux" client setting, install via ftp, and it should
work just fine.

Here is the procedure for NetBackup UNIX 3.2:

On the NetBackup server:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client_files ftp <client name or IP>
<username>

This will place a small install script called client_config in
your RaQ's /tmp directory. You will then log into the RaQ, su
to root, go to /tmp and execute "sh /bp/bin/client_config" which
will install the binaries and updates your /etc/services and
/etc/inetd.conf with settings to allow NetBackup to connect
and do it's thing.

The best way to test is backup /etc/nodename on the client to
your server. This is a tiny file and you should find out quickly
if your config works or not.

I have not tested a RaQ specifically, but I do have many Linux
clients. I cannot think of any reason it would not work. It
would be nice to see Veritas and Cobalt team up on this, but
Veritas licenses are NOT cheap and I fear this would drive up
the price of the RaQs even more.

Take care.
